This Friday we will cover -
ELECTION NIGHT RESULTS - I am watching the initial elections results. The numbers seem to change as results come in from different precincts. But you cannot trust these initial results. Many thousands of votes still remain to be counted. We will get much clearer information within the next few days. But lets make sure that no one concedes any elections before the whole results are available.
STATE AND LOCAL ISSUES - The initial results of issues could change by friday, but here are the early results.
I-1033 - Seems to be failing by 10% or so state wide.
R-71 - Is passing by a very small amount and could go either way.
Prop 4 in Spokane - Is failing by a 75%-25% margin in early counting.
CANDIDATE RACES - Here are the early results as of 8:30 Nov 3rd -
1st District - Amber Waldref 62%, Mike Fagan 38%
2nd District - Jon Snyder 52%, Mike Allen 48%
3rd District - Nancy McLaughlin 66%, Karen Kearney 34%
AFGHANISTAN PRESIDENT WINS BY DEFAULT - Now that the fraudulent election of Hamid Karzai in Afghanistan is over by default. His opposition was not willing to put his country through more elections corruption. So now we have President Obama having to support a fraud of a president in Afghanistan. Now we are at the crossroads of history that makes or breaks countries. Obama has a choice of furthering our endless wars, and there by taking ownership of Afghanistan from President Bush. This is not Obama's war, but could be shortly. If only he would take it to Pakistan where the real troubles are. Only then would we be doing the right thing.
Canadian torture victim suit rejected by U.S. - This is the kind of story that makes me lose faith in America. Canadian citizen Maher Arar was mistakenly implicated as a terrorist, and was sent to Syria BY THE US to be tortured. Since we in America don't believe in torture, I guess it's ok to have someone else do our dirty work. And the US courts do nothing for justice in their re-afirmation of the Executives power to accuse and torture at it's leasure. If this story doesn;t make you sick, your not part of the human race.
"OTHER" PARTY MEETING, NOV 17th, Tuesday, 7pm, Merlyn's, 19 W Main -
Thanks to all that came out last night for our 2nd meeting. We doubled in size even without a couple of our regulars. Highlights were having a city council candidate Mike Fagen come by and check it out, a name suggestion - "non partisan league...", and a refinement of the idealistic core goals of creating a "political" incubator with information and systems for new candidates, regardless of party. Another goal will be furthering the causes of campaign finance reform, transparency in government and elections reform. And we hope to do this in an inclusive format not distracted by discussion of divisive issues.
We will have the next meeting of the "other party" Tuesday, Nov 17th, 7pm at Merlyn's, 19 w main. This time we will spend about an hour figuring out how to get to the next step of creating a web site, and spreading the word. If there are any "Webby" people out there, we would love to have you join us. I'm interested in Blogspot and those sort of sites. And we will spend an hour just discussing any other ideas on how to fix the elections process.
Also, we would love to hear from any "card carrying" third party representatives to discuss their needs and ideas on election reform. Green's, Constitutionalist's, Libritarians and all that are all invited.
I made a facebook group, feel free to join and spread the word -
